If anything in the following steps seems unclear it might be due to the fact that I didn't describe in detail the steps that are part of the Drop-down menu in the SS Tutorial here.
1. Create rectangle with rounded corners
2. Make a text object
3. Make a permanent group of both objects (Re-render option on)
4. Give each object a meaningful name for easier editing
5. Make as many copies of the permanent group as you need
6. Rename every object in the new groups for easy editing and adjust the z-order
7. Apply links using quick editor
8. Make mouse over effects (see drop-down menu tutorial)
9. Make a permanent group of the left hand buttons (Render background off)
10. Change z-order of the right hand 'Menu' button so it is the same as before step 9
11. Make another mouse over effects (see drop-down menu tutorial)
12. Send the left hand group to the back
13. Send the Silver Menu Button to the back
